Privacy Policy
Effective October 9, 2026
This policy covers the ProofStamp app for iPhone and iPad, made by Olympic Digital Solutions (“we”).
What stays on your device
Everything you create with ProofStamp is stored in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad:
- Photos and videos you take, and unstamped originals if you choose to keep them
- The date, time, GPS position, street address, altitude and compass heading recorded with each one
- Projects, notes, your stamp settings, logo, company name and report details
- Verification records: digital fingerprints (SHA-256 hashes), verification codes and timestamp certificates
We have no servers that receive this information and no way to see it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it. Copies you saved to your Photos library or shared stay where you put them.
Permissions
- Camera and microphone: to take photos and record video with sound.
- Location (while using the app): to stamp where each photo or video was taken. ProofStamp never uses location in the background. You can deny it and still take stamped photos without a location.
- Photos: to save your photos and videos to your library, file them into an album, choose a logo, or check a photo in Verify a Photo.
You can change any of these at any time in your device's Settings.
Information that leaves your device
Street addresses
To print a street address on a photo, ProofStamp uses Apple's built-in location service to turn GPS coordinates into an address, the same service used by Apple's Camera and Maps apps. Apple's handling of these requests is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy. Turning off the address field in Stamp Style stops these lookups.
Certified timestamps
When certified timestamps are on (Settings → Proof), ProofStamp sends a fingerprint of each photo or video to an independent timestamp authority, which signs it with the current time. The fingerprint is a SHA-256 hash: a 64-character code calculated from the file. The photo or video cannot be recreated from it, and it contains no location, name or other personal information.
The authorities are Sectigo (timestamp.sectigo.com), with FreeTSA (freetsa.org) as a backup. Like any website, they can see the IP address of the device making the request. Their handling of that is governed by their own privacy policies. You can turn certified timestamps off at any time.
Sharing
When you share a photo, video, certificate or PDF report, it goes only where you send it (Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Files and so on). Photos keep their GPS position in their hidden data unless you choose Share without location data or turn on Remove GPS data from files in Settings.
What we don't do
- We don't collect, sell, rent or share personal information.
- We don't use advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking services.
- We don't require an account or sign-in.
Children
ProofStamp is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Any change that affects how your data is handled will also be described in the app's update notes.
